Lilith

8.9 years to circuit the zodiac · about 9 months per sign

Sometimes called the Black Moon. There is no such moon.

Lilith as plotted here is the mean lunar apogee: the point in the Moon's orbit furthest from Earth, averaged to smooth its considerable wobble. It is a position in an orbit, not a thing in the sky.

A 'true' or osculating apogee also exists and moves quite differently, sometimes retrograde. Sources rarely say which they mean, which is a common source of disagreement between charts.

It completes a circuit in about nine years. Nothing occupies it, and no telescope will show it.

What it is

The Moon's mean apogee — the far point of the lunar orbit. A calculated point, not an object.
